A little bit about us
Miranda began her musical journey early on in a very musically inclined family. Her dad has played every instrument in several punk rock bands, and her mom has always loved to sing. Miranda’s sister, Hailey, is a classically trained singer, and her brother, Chris, is currently lead singer and guitarist in a band called Zephyr Pilots.
In 2011, Miranda and her sister were given the roles of Cinderella’s evil stepsisters, Florinda and Lucinda in “Into the Woods”. In 2012, Miranda was in the ensemble for “Singing in the Rain”. Miranda received her bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University Idaho, in Music Education, with an emphasis in Voice. She had many performance opportunities during her time at BYU-Idaho. She was a member of the choral group, Collegiate Singers, and also performed in several semesters of opera scenes. Some of her favorite roles include “Gretel” from Humperdink’s Hansel and Gretel, “Gianetta” from Donizetti’s L’elisir d’amore, and “Despina” from Mozart’s Cosi fan Tutte. Her roots are musical theater, but college introduced her to the world of classical opera. Miranda learned and performed several arias and art songs in the languages of German, Latin, Italian, French, and English.
When Miranda was in 4th grade, she and her sister were given the incredible opportunity participate in a musical production called “Cinemagic”, in her hometown of Camarillo, California. The director saw a spark in her that she didn’t know she had. Miranda was given many opportunities to sing solos throughout her time in Cinemagic between the years of 2004-2008. Some popular songs being, “Far from the Home I Love”, from Fiddler on the Roof, “Defying Gravity”, from Wicked, & “Once upon a December,” from Anastasia. Cinemagic gave her the knowledge, and confidence to make her want to learn more and to always keep performing.
In 2013, between semesters at college, Miranda decided to start teaching private lessons to local kids in the area. She quickly fell in love with the exciting energy that came from teaching others how to sing. After college, in 2017, Miranda went on to teach music for 3 years at Noah Webster Academy, an elementary school in Orem, Utah. During that time, she hosted three after school music clubs that involved 50+ students, Minuet, a junior music club, Musical Theater, and Vivace, a show choir. In 2020, she completed her time in the classroom, and became a full-time mom. In 2022, she auditioned and became a member of the Lux Choral Society, a prestigious choir in Utah County. She spent 2 years singing in the soprano section, and loved being surrounded with talented singers once again.
Currently, Miranda is in the season of teaching others the joy of music and singing, and is loving every moment.
